CapWIN, a consortium of 40+ federal, state, and local agencies with overlapping responsibilities for emergency first response, needed to manage and dynamically generate teams to communicate across jurisdictions.
When an incident occurs, a persistent chat room is created to enable real-time communication between all available experts and support personnel regardless of location. Along with the ability to search multiple databases, these “incident rooms” give dispersed personnel a platform to review incident discussions, gather information as it is happening, and plan a more coordinated response to each emergency.
This cost-effective and simple-to-support solution eliminates information silos during emergencies and enables more fluid coordination amongst responding agencies.
