The server-to-server (S2S) architecture enabling federation with external instant messaging (IM) and presence systems was critical to Boeing’s deployment, therefore their training sessions included S2S key features such as federation with external XMPP servers, security options, and interoperability with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)/SIP for Instant Messaging and Presence Leveraging Extensions (SIMPLE).
