Content Archiving Leader Privacy Networks Announces Support for Jabber XCP
Leading Unified Messaging Archive Platform delivers Complete Compliance for Message Convergence

April 22, 2008 – Denver, Colo. – Jabber, Inc. and Privacy Networks, Inc. today announced that Privacy Networks is delivering a simple, safe, and cost-effective archiving appliance for the Jabber Extensible Communications Platform™ (Jabber XCP™) presence and enterprise instant messaging (EIM) solution. By delivering this unified message archiving appliance, customers benefit from having archive, search, and retrieval for Jabber XCP alongside email and other digital content types.

In addition to the new support for Jabber XCP, Privacy Networks’ products can concurrently support all the major email platforms such as Exchange, Domino, and GroupWise. As a result, customers are able to have a single archive for all their unified messaging needs. With Privacy Network’s unified messaging archiving appliance, finding and retrieving any message is now as easy as a search on the Internet. Searches can be performed by an end user retrieving their email or an administrator searching across an entire organization’s email.

“Jabber’s unique messaging and presence infrastructure is highly synergistic with the Privacy Networks unified message archiving platform,” said Steven Berens, president and chief executive officer of Privacy Networks. “Together we deliver a complete solution for customers looking to implement messaging systems that meet the rigors of today’s compliance requirements.”

In today’s digital world, EIM and email have become essential tools in improving workflow and effectiveness. Businesses are facing the challenge of retaining, searching, and archiving the information contained in these key digital assets. Recent changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) as well as the expanding state and local regulations regarding open records are accelerating the need for rapid and simple archiving and retrieval of all forms of communications.

“Customers are seeing increased industry and government regulations regarding archiving and retrieval of their messaging content,” said Paul Guerin, chief executive officer of Jabber. “Privacy Networks solution which combines archiving, search, and retrieval for both Jabber XCP and email in a single and easy-to-implement appliance helps customers quickly and cost effectively meet new and rapidly changing electronic document retention and e-discovery regulations.”
