Solution Architect – Government Market

Job Description

Jabber, Inc. is searching for a Solution Architect for the U.S. Government market. At Jabber, Solution Architects are the primary technical resource for the field sales force and are responsible for the technical account management of all stages of the sales and deployment process. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and self-motivated with experience in technical software development and sales in the U.S. Government market. Knowledge of real-time messaging, presence, collaboration and other network computing technologies is highly desirable. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to inquiries, RFPs, and when documenting details related to customer solution requirements.

Job Functions Include

  • Pre- and post-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Development and delivery of product demonstrations
  • Representing the product to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Interpreting and documenting customer solution requirements
  • Providing technical account insights to Support personnel
  • Regular and extensive travel

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3-5+ years relevant experience in software sales in the government market
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance
  • Superlative communications skills
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of XML, threads, and debugging practices
  • Proficiency in Windows, Unix and Linux environments
  • Working knowledge of UML and RUP
  • Reside in Washington, D.C. metro area, or willing to relocate

Job Description

Jabber software developers are responsible for the analysis, design, and development of robust, scalable, and high-quality software products. They work cooperatively and effectively with members of other departments including Product Development, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Support and Documentation to deliver products according to specification and schedule.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years professional experience developing in C++ for UNIX/Linux

Sr. QA Engineer

Job Description

This test engineer will use product requirement documents, Use Cases, and design documents to build manual and automated test cases in support of protocol, functional, and performance test suites. The test engineer will work within small teams contributing to test schedule estimates, establishment of test environments, development of test harnesses, and conducting test efforts. The test engineer will execute test cases to ensure that targeted products work as specified. Using established infrastructure, the test engineer will file and track defects through to fix verification. Testing progress will be recorded and reported on a regular basis. The QA Engineer reports to the Director of Software Quality Assurance.

Job Function Includes

  • Review software specification materials and develop manual and scripted test cases
  • Install, configure, and manage test environments
  • Execute functional, protocol, and performance test suites
  • Interfaces with project management and software development team members

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of software test experience.
  • Experience testing Enterprise/Internet software applications.
  • Experience with Directory Services (e.g. OpenLDAP, IBM Directory Server, Sun One Directory Server)
  • Experience with Oracle, SQLite, MS SQL, and Postgres
  • Strong background working with various scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl, REBOL, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Solaris, Linux (RedHat) and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with automated testing tools.
  • Experience with XML
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with strong attention to detail
